Academic Curriculum of NIELIT ‘A’ LEVEL: NIELIT ‘A’ Level Course is a foundation Course in the field of Information Technology. The duration of the course after Graduation or polytechnic is one and half and after ‘O’ Level is One Year.

Objective: The Objective of the course is to prepare candidates for NIELIT examination by imparting required knowledge and skill.

Recognition: Recognition has been given by the Government of India to NIELIT ‘A’ level examination conducted by the NIELIT as equivalent to Foundation Course in IT for the purpose of employment to the posts and services under Central Government.

Intake: 25 seats for each session

Selection Procedure: Selection of candidate is purely through an entrance test conducted. If the numbers of applicants are less, entrance test is not held.

Project Work:

Projects in the NIELIT Scheme are an integral part of the curriculum to qualify for a certificate. There are two projects after the completion of 2nd semester.No marks are assigned for this, but Candidates are required to carry out the project successfully. The head of the Institute will submit a project completion certificate in the prescribed format for issuing pass certificate to NIELIT for the students who have cleared all the papers and complete the project work.

Examination:

1. Theory Examinations:

NIELIT “A” -level theory examination is conducted twice in a year (in the month of January and July) by NIELIT, New Delhi. Full mark of each paper is 100 and exam duration is 3 hrs. Examination fee for each theory paper is Rs. 500/- and cost of exam form is Rs. 25/-.

2. Practical Examinations:
There are two practical papers for NIELIT “A” Level Course. Appeared or appearing all the theory papers are the necessary condition for the practical examination. Practical Examination is conducted at the Institute under the supervision of NIELIT, New Delhi. Students need to provide the option for appearing in practical examination while filling up exam form with payment of additional practical examination fee of Rs.300/- . Duration of each practical examination is 3 hrs. Following is the Gradation system of the above Courses:
